This basic one day course is aimed at new entrants to fish processing and to people wishing to gain skills in basic fish filleting techniques such as fishermen, chefs and keen amateurs.
Course: Seafish Fish Filleting Course (Certificate issued on successful completion).
Duration: 1 Day
Cost: £100 (price includes training, costs of fish and all equipment needed)

Course content: The programme was originally developed by Seafish in 1989 and focuses on various fish filleting techniques, such as skinning and steaking, using both round and flat fish. An assessment of competence is carried out to confirm that candidates are able to reach the standard required, based upon factors including quality and yield. By the end of the programme candidates should be competent in a wide range of processing techniques. Successful candidates receive a Seafish certificate of competance.

This new one day course is for people who are keen to start a career in the seafood retail industry.
Course: Introduction to Fishmongering
Duration: 1 day
Cost: £110 (price includes training, costs of fish and all equipment needed)
Coure content:
The Introduction to Fishmongering course is a Seafish training course. The one-day course consists of both theory-based and practical modules. Students learn knife skills, food hygiene and safety, customer service and fish display techiques. Attendees receive a Seafish Certificate of attendance on completion.
