Introductory Fishmongering Course - Open to anyone wishing to enter the industry
A new introductory fish-mongering course is now available to people who are keen to start a career in the seafood retail industry.
The Introduction to Fishmongering course is a Seafish training course which has been developed in collaboration with Billingsgate Seafood Training School. It aims to raise the skill levels of people who are interested in pursuing a career in fishmongering.
The one-day course consists of both theory-based and practical modules. These include knife skills, hygiene and customer service. Pilots have recently been very successful, and as a result Seafish have rolled the course out across the UK. Funding will be available towards the cost of this course.
