A BURSARY helping fishermen to complete Class I and II skippers' tickets, has been made available thorough the Cornwall Adult Support Fund.
Cornwall Adult Support Fund HE Bursary is used to assist employees who may have difficulties in accessing or completing a higher education course (Level 4 or above) because of financial considerations.

This funding can be used to help people wishing to complete Class I and II Skippers tickets as they are equivalent to NVQ level 4

Cornwall Adult Support Fund HE Bursary is used to assist employees who may have difficulties in accessing or completing a higher education course (Level 4 or above), because of financial considerations. The funds are limited and are not guaranteed. The main criteria used to assess awards of this fund are as follows:

 

· Awards are limited to a maximum of £1,000.00 (A maximum of £700 will be paid before the completion of the course with an additional maximum of £300 payable on proof of qualification);

· Applicants must be over 19 years of age at the start of their course and live within Cornwall or The Isles of Scilly;

· To be eligible for support from this fund, applicants must be employed in the private sector. (No applications from employees in the public sector can be accepted.) A case needs to be made in the application to demonstrate how the course will be of economic benefit to the economy of Cornwall;

· Funding is not available to learners who are already being supported by other public funding. To be eligible for this funding your course must end by 30th June 2008; and

· To be eligible for this funding you should complete at least one module of our course by 30th June 2008.
