Seafish unveils new '2 a week' labels for Seafood Fortnight
To promote the ‘2 a week' message to consumers, Seafish has created new labels for use on seafood products in supermarkets, fishmongers and independent retailers.

Seafish welcomes rejection of a ban on bottom trawling by National Federation of Women's Institutes
Seafish welcomes the decision taken yesterday at the National Federation of Women's Institutes (NFWI) AGM in Liverpool to reject a resolution calling for a ban on bottom trawling in UK waters.

First meeting of Scottish fuel task force
The Fuel Task Force, part of the Scottish Government's five-point action plan to combat the impact of fuel costs on fishermen, met for the first time last Friday in Edinburgh. This task force includes Paul Williams of Seafish.

Optimism at annual shellfish conference
The Shellfish Association of Great Britain's 39th annual conference, meeting and dinner held at Fishmonger's Hall in the City of London on 20 and 21 May, had an optimistic and positive atmosphere. Dr Jon Harman, Seafish development director, spoke on sustainability and climate change.

Protests on costs sweep the continent

The Crown Estate launches round 3 of offshore wind farm development
The Crown Estate launched its round 3 leasing programme for the delivery of up to 25 GW of new offshore windfarm sites by 2020 yesterday. The announcement was made at the BWEA (British Wind Energy Association) conference in central London.
